Kaleidoscopic
For an interactive light installation we explored attaching a camera to a caleidoscope and pointing it to its own projection. We discovered that this make a weird feedback loop of colors and shapes when the camera tries to adapt to the changes of its own projection. Passing festival-goers could stick their head in front of the camera and make their own funny projections.
In this project I learned a lot about executing someone else’s artistic vision, requiring a slightly different type of teamwork and usual design process. My main contribution was to figure out how we could make and set up the canvas for the projection, and explore a size that makes impact.
